I'm a writer, editor and cultural critic based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

My first book, On Nostalgia, was published by Coach House Books in 2020. Prior to that I spent six years as a critic and columnist in the arts section for Canada's National Post, and my work has appeared in the Globe and Mail, Hazlitt, the Walrus, Toronto Life, the CBC and elsewhere, though I have a particular fondness for my time working for numerous dearly departed alt-weeklies.

I'm currently at work on a non-fiction book about how artists make a living off their work and how that affects our perceptions of the art they create, tentatively titled How Artists Make Money. Iā€™m also honoured to serve as an Editorial Consultant for Coach House Books, acquiring and editing works of creative non-fiction.

I'm represented by Akin Akinwumi at Willenfield Literary Agency. For all publishing-related enquiries, please contact admin [at] willenfield dot com.
